To explore current roles of police, prisons and probation offender management in contemporary society, foregrounding UK practice. This module examines penal services in relation to the prevention of crime and of modes of punishment for offenders, including pathways for rehabilitation and resettlement. This will include desistance form crime and approaches to changing criminal behaviour. The module will enable students to develop current skills and understanding of key principles underpinning offender management and behaviour change.
