Why postgraduate?
Postgraduate degrees are advanced levels of study beyond a Bachelor’s degree.
There are lots of reasons to study a postgraduate course at Bradford. You’ll gain new skills. Enhance your existing ones. Open the door to exciting careers. But you might have some doubts. Is this the right time? Can I afford it? Is it worth it?
It’s normal to have these thoughts when making a life-changing decision like this. But the answer is yes. Your journey will be life-changing in a positive way. You can boost your earning potential, take part in important research, advance your career, and build lifelong connections in your industry.
Is postgraduate right for me?
How will I fund it?
This may seem daunting, but there’s a lot of help available. If you took your undergraduate at Bradford, you’ll unlock our exclusive Alumni Discount Scheme, netting you 10% off your tuition fees. You may also be eligible for a Master’s loan, scholarship, or doctoral loan.
Can I do it?
Don’t worry. Your undergraduate degree will have given you all the skills and knowledge you need to move up to postgraduate study. There’s also a range of support services to help make your postgraduate journey as smooth as possible. This includes the Academic Skills Advice Service, personal tutors, peer-to-peer-support, and much more.
Can postgraduate life work for me?
There isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to our postgraduate courses. You can find a programme that fits your needs. Do you need to fit your studies around existing commitments? There are flexible options like distance learning, part-time courses, and CPD programmes.
What type of course should I pick?
You can choose from postgraduate taught degrees, where teaching is similar to undergraduate but more advanced, and postgraduate research degrees, where you can make a real impact on your field with self-directed research.
We also offer a number of postgraduate courses that accept applicants from any undergraduate degree or discipline.

Travelling here
By car
If you are driving, we suggest planning your route before the Open Day and giving yourself extra driving time. This is partly because our on-campus parking, located at the corner of Shearbridge Road and Great Horton Road (post code: BD7 1AY) is limited and can't be guaranteed.
As well, the city of Bradford is currently undergoing a number of exciting developments which have resulted in several road closures in the city centre. You can find out more at the Bradford Future website.
By rail
Our campus is also within walking distance of both Bradford Interchange and Bradford Forster Square rail stations if you prefer to take the train.
By bus
Take the 576 Bradford-Halifax bus, which leaves at regular intervals and takes around 5 minutes. Due to aforementioned road closures we recommend planning your journey using the WY Metro journey planner.
