Ciprian Daniel Neagu is Professor of Computing, leader of the AI Research (AIRE) Group at the University of Bradford, and Turing University Network academic liaison, with 30+ years of research project leadership and teaching, industrial collaborations and scholarship.
He developed renowned international expertise in Computing and Responsible Artificial Intelligence, with core foundations and original contributions in Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics and applications. His research is funded by EPSRC, BBSRC, RAENG, Innovate UK/UKRI, European Commission competitive programmes.
He designs and delivers data- and computing-intensive science and multidisciplinary innovation agenda for the University of Bradford and communities, and contributes to the UK and EU strategies to address global technological and society challenges in Responsible AI, Machine Learning, AI model governance, big data analytics, with applications in social, environment and product safety, heritage and wellbeing.
He is Associate Editor for Expert Systems: The Journal of Knowledge Engineering, and chaired international conferences in AI, Computational Intelligence and Big Data. He is an external examiner and reviewer for a number of national and international research institutions, and a successful PhD supervisor coordinating more than 30 successful graduates.
