University of Bradford opens up opportunities for adults to access higher education
The University of Bradford has removed an entry requirement for prospective adult learners [students aged 21 and over] to make studying for a degree through a Foundation Year route more accessible to them.

The Foundation Year is a pre-degree access programme which provides people with a basis for future full-time undergraduate study at the University of Bradford. This one-year course is designed for students who do not have the necessary academic qualifications for registration directly onto a degree course.
For adult learners who have appropriate work or life experience and the motivation to study at University, the Level 3 qualifications requirement (A-level or equivalent) has been removed from the Foundation Year programmes.
Applicants will still need to meet the Level 2 qualification requirements (GCSE or equivalent) for the degree course they wish to progress to following the completion of their Foundation Year.
Make a difference
Claire Pryke, Associate Director Outreach, Recruitment and Admissions at the University of Bradford, said: “Our Foundation Year is for students who would benefit from an additional year’s study prior to starting on their degree programme.
“Through our changes to Foundation Year entry requirements for adult learners, we hope it will help make a difference to people’s lives and give them the platform for, not only their studies, but their future careers.
“We are happy to provide information, advice and guidance to anyone who may be thinking of joining us.”
