Broadcaster and University of Bradford social work student Samea Mahboob will interview academic, author and fellow broadcaster Dr Yunis Alam, head of the Department, Sociology and Criminology and Business & Community Engagement Consultant Urfan Faqir on Sunday (February 9).

Samea, pictured below, who is also head of the University’s Social Justice Society, said: “This show is all about exploring what opportunities sociology degrees offer students, particularly in terms of routes into employment, and what Bradford has to offer.”
Undergraduate courses include Criminology, International Relations, Politics and Security Studies, Physchology, Social Work, Sociology and more.
Dr Alam, pictured above, said: “In this show, we will explore how students can enhance the value of their degrees, focussing especially on sociology and how it develops a range of skills and attributes that are sought after by employers.
“We will discuss some of the general content and approach within the study of sociology as a discipline that allows us to better understand the challenges and opportunities in society.”
Urfan, pictured above, said: "We will be discussing the benefits of studying social sciences at the University of Bradford, highlighting the diverse range of courses available and their relevance to real-world challenges.
“The conversation will cover the university’s commitment to social mobility, the strong industry links that help students gain practical experience, and the supportive learning environment.
"We will also touch on the impact of social sciences on society, career opportunities for graduates, and the inclusive, community-focused nature of the university.
“Listeners will gain insight into how studying at Bradford can equip them with the skills and knowledge to make a meaningful difference in their careers and communities."
