The video features University Vice-Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon, staff member of 23 years Bharti Mistry, from the Legal and Governance team, and student and president of the LGBTQ+ Society Teslim Thomas, among others.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Shirley Congdon said: “We provide safe spaces for people to talk, to listen, to be heard, to be deliberate in involving people from diverse groups in everything we do.”
Chris Hall, Associate Director for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), pictured above, said: “The one thing that unites us as humans is our difference. Here at the University of Bradford we have a vibrant LGBT staff and student community, with a strong visible presence.”
Anita Sergeant, Associate Dean for Business Development, in the Faculty of Health, said: “We have broadened diversity, and influenced policy… and one of the really important things here at Bradford is it offers opportunity for people from a diverse range of backgrounds.”
Gary McFarlane, Deputy Director of People, said: “I’m proud of how inclusive we are of all groups.”
Professor Chris Gaffney, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research & Innovation, described EDI as “the DNA of the University of Bradford.”
