Joanne is Associate Director Student Services: Careers, Employability and Engagement at the University of Bradford. Her role includes strategic leadership for careers, employability and external engagement, and leading Career and Employability Services. Jo’s understanding and experience in the arenas of careers, employability, graduate employment, social mobility, inclusion, business engagement and partnership working have been developed over 30 years, working within public, private and 3^rd sector organisations.

Developing professional practice, partnerships, and structures to enable individuals to progress have been the core themes of her working life. Her most recent professional body appointment is to the ISE Diversity and Inclusion Task Group.

Zailie is the Deputy Head of Career and Employability Services. With over 23 years working in education and over 10 years in a senior leadership position. She brings experience of successfully leading career teams strategically to support students in raising their aspirations and securing positive destinations.

Zailie is also a qualified SENCO with experience of working with students who have learning difficulties and/or disabilities and those students who may have other barriers to learning.

Alex is a Career Consultant and is the lead for the Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences. Alex has experience of delivering Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to range of stakeholders including universities, schools and also supporting adults who were long-term unemployed. Alex has a previous background in Customer Services, as well as also coaching unemployed graduates looking to seek graduate employment after their studies.

Link Career Consultant with the Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences, I work with students and graduates to support them with their careers queries and assist academic colleagues to enhance the professional literacy of their students and embed Future Focused Learning. Gillian is an experienced Careers Adviser currently working at the Universities of Bradford and Huddersfield. She has also worked previously at Sheffield Hallam and the University of Sheffield universities and as a schools and FE careers adviser. She has a very broad experience of 1:1 careers guidance, teaching career management and employability skills, across the full range of non-vocational, vocational and professional subject areas. She has a special interest in working with postgraduate taught and research students and is an active member of AGCAS's Postgraduate Students Task Group.

Gillian is also the coordinator for the Bradford Mentoring Programme.

Helen is a Career Consultant with a focus on supporting international students across all faculty areas, particular those studying on Postgraduate level courses. Helen works alongside an Employer and Placement Consultant (International) to plan and deliver a range of extra curricular employability programmes and workshops as well as offering 1-1 appointments and contributing to curriculum development.

Helen joined the University of Bradford in 2019 as part of the Employer and Placement Services Team and moved in to a Career Consultant role is 2023, having previously offered career guidance and employability support to students in a secondary school and prior to this, worked in financial services.

Roy is an experienced Career Consultant with responsibility for the Faculty of Engineering & Informatics. She has lead responsibility for the Career and Employability Services Programme of Employability Workshops and Presentations, Psychometric Tests, Career Ambassadors and International Students.  Roy has 17 years’ experience as a careers practitioner and has supported a range of students and graduates focusing on developing and enhancing their employability.

Roy has taught on the Personal, Career and Professional Development Module for Clinical Science Students (and acted as Personal Academic Tutor for Foundation and first year students), CPD Module for IT, Technology and Industrial Engineering and contributed careers sessions to other Module Programmes in various faculties.

She also works very closely with various companies and was recently nominated by IMI Precision Engineering (IMI Plc) for the National Undergraduate Employability Awards (sponsored by RateMyPlacement) for outstanding contribution to Work Experience.

A geology graduate, Roy worked initially as an Exploration Geologist with Sarawak Shell in Malaysia which included working on off-shore oil rigs in South China Sea.  Since coming to the UK, Roy worked for 13 years in HR and recruitment in a charitable organisation before switching role to become a Careers Practitioner.

Daniel is responsible for coordinating and analysing the Destinations of Leavers from HE survey (DLHE). He undertakes analysis of employment data at local and regional level (LMI) and is editor of “What Do Graduates Do?", an AGCAS publication. Daniel is also the Health and Safety Representative for SAS / CES. Daniel spent 2 years working in Personnel / HR for the NHS, and was involved in MBA student recruitment while working for the School of Management. He also has experience of ERDF funded projects working with SMEs locally.

Alex works with the faculty of Engineering and Digital Technologies, guiding students throughout their industry placement.
He also helps run the Summer Experience internship programme, helping first and second-year students gain employment whilst working closely with local employers.

He offers 1:1 appointments to students through the CES and support the wider team with career led events such as career fairs, drop ins with a focus on providing graduates with guidance and advice in relation to their career’.

Anna works across all faculties at the University to develop work-based learning opportunities for international students in particular, and helps students to access and understand the value of these. She actively engages and develops meaningful relationships with a wide range of employers to facilitate student opportunities both within and outside of the curriculum. These might include placements, internships, volunteering, guest lectures and graduate employment opportunities. 

Working alongside a Career Consultant (International) to plan and deliver a range of employability programmes and workshops, Anna also supports international students through individual appointments to discuss CVs and Cover Letters, job applications, placements, part-time work, sourcing opportunities and developing employability skills. Through her employer engagement activities she also aims to raise awareness of the practicalities of hiring international students and graduates, the options available and the potential benefits of doing so.

An Employment and Placement services Adviser; actively engaging and networking with employers across the region, to build connections and source relevant opportunities.

I am primarily based within the Faculty of Law, Management and Social Sciences, but available to all students to support with CV writing, interview preparation, finding work experience/internships and developing overall employability skills.

Ian is responsible primarily for employer engagement and careers-related student support for the MSc Applied Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics programme within the Faculty of Law, Management and Social Sciences.

Nawaz is the Employer and Placement Services Consultant linked to the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics and the Faculty of Life Sciences.

Nicola is responsible for all of the operational aspects of the University Work Register and is the main contact for internal departments wishing to recruit student workers. She issues Casual Worker Agreements to students who work on campus and manages the monthly payroll for student staff.

Nicola is the main contact for employers wishing to promote their vacancies to our students and supports the administration of central Careers fairs held on campus. She is also part of the team providing one-to-one information and advice drop-in services to students and graduates.

Shereen serves as the Employer and Placement Advisor for the Faculty of Management, Law, and Social Sciences team. Coordinating both the Summer Experience Programme and Bradford Mentoring Programme, Shereen plays a pivotal role in facilitating valuable opportunities for students' professional growth.

Urfan works across all faculties and departments, building and extending partnership working and specific projects to support the University's Business and Community Engagement, particularly with a focus on skills, student/graduate opportunities, including diversity, inclusion and widening participation. He was the project lead on the Graduate Workforce Bradford Project to improve outcome for ethnic minority graduates and previously lead on the summer experience programme.

Urfan manages the relationship between the university and organisations such as The LEAP and Bradford 2025. He is responsible for advertising and promoting opportunities relevant to students. He also manages research internships for the Brad-Attain programme for PHD and undergraduate students. He also sits on the Placement steering group, Business and Community Engagement steering group, Race Equality Action Group, Action and Participation group and is currently the Co-chair of the Race Equality Staff Forum.

Carlos leads the International Opportunities Abroad for students (study and work placements, and internships) and staff , both incoming and outgoing. Liaising with the departmental exchange coordinators and other internal teams, Carlos leads the University participation in the Erasmus+ Programme; in the Vulcanus Programme; in the ISEP - International Student Exchange Programme; in the Worldwide Exchanges, in the Short Programmes and Summer Programmes and International Visiting Student Programme.

Harry works with the International Opportunities Coordinator to support students looking for study or work placements abroad and incoming exchange students across all subjects and levels. He supports the university’s participation in the exchange programmes including Turing, Worldwide Exchanges, and Short International Programmes. Harry works directly with students in daily sessions giving advice about studying abroad and supporting the application process, in addition to delivering presentations and workshops. He has personal experience of studying abroad and has worked in the International Offices of Keele University and the University of Pécs, Hungary. Before starting at Bradford, he completed a Masters in International Education and Globalisation at the University of Bath.

Lucy works as part of the International Opportunities Team to facilitate support for both incoming and outgoing students on placement or exchange. She supports the university’s participation in the exchange programmes including Turing, Worldwide Exchanges, and Short International Programmes.
