Core Entrepreneurship Programme for graduates

The University of Bradford Entrepreneur programme provides a route for home or international applicants to live in Bradford and establish or further develop a successful start-up. We accept applications from University of Bradford alumni as well as graduates from other institutions worldwide.

About the programme

The programme runs for two years and is open to anyone who has a business enterprise idea and who wishes to be based in Bradford. Entrepreneurs from overseas receive support either to apply for an Innovator Business Founder visa, or to make the most of their Post-study Work Visa to run a successful business. If the enterprise progresses well, an entrepreneur can then pursue further steps towards permanent residence and remaining in Bradford.

The programme provides comprehensive support, including a registered address, use of space and meeting rooms in the entrepreneurship centre, training and mentoring, networking events and access to fundraising opportunities. Our goal is to support our city, local economy and the University through retaining and attracting top entrepreneurial talent.

"I always wanted to become a professional website, Android/IOS apps and software developer. I love to apply programming rules on websites and shrinking web pages into mobile screens. I’m a quick learner and my specialties include Java, ASP.NET, C#, Kotlin, php, XML, Swift and Adobe photoshop. I’m still learning new programming language like Laravel to improve my programming skills.

"I had a dream to start my own software development company. I did a lot of interesting projects and developed a few websites, Android/IOS apps during my studies. During my stay in the UK, I was providing ecommerce management services to three different companies and identified a lot of problems which seller’s face during processing ecommerce orders. I decided to develop a software which would make the whole process of ecommerce business on multiple channels like eBay, amazon and WooCommerce etc easy, quick and more efficient. I’m developing that software and its almost ready to launch with name of OneClic.

"I contacted the Open Innovation team at the University of Bradford to help me to enhance my business and managerial skills as well as to provide me a bigger platform to launch my software. Open Innovation is great platform for start-up entrepreneurs to understand different aspects of business and to start your start-up business. We have 1-2-1 sessions every month with the Open Innovation team and if we have any difficulties in any department they guide us on how to handle it. Also, we have sessions every second week where we meet other start up entrepreneurs and discuss different topics like pricing, financial forecasting, marketing, funding and much more. For better learning, improving business techniques, for better understanding of accessing funding opportunities, meeting new entrepreneurs and discussing new ideas, I’ll definitely recommend new start-up entrepreneurs to join the Open Innovation programme."
